In the 70s of the twentieth century headed one of the most important programs for the development of concrete and reinforced concrete in the USSR and the Russian Federation, which became a model for the development of industrial science. Work in the field of wave compaction technologies, the theory of strength of composite materials, the theory of corrosion of concrete and reinforced concrete, activation and grinding of emulsions and suspensions, and the creation of automated production lines for the production of precast reinforced concrete have become widely known. In 1990, he was elected President of the USSR Engineering Academy, and then the Russian and International Engineering Academies.
An outstanding scientist and organizer of science, education and educational activities. Author of 40 books and more than 800 scientific articles, a famous inventor who has received more than 130 patents.
He created three scientific schools: in Dnepropetrovsk and two in Moscow and continues to create them in other regions. Under his scientific supervision, 10 people defended their doctoral dissertations and more than 80 defended their candidate dissertations.
Activities of Gusev B.V. awarded State Prizes of the USSR and the Russian Federation, 5 awards of the Government of the Russian Federation, as well as high state awards of the Russian Federation and other countries.
